For the organisers of the Itajaí stopover, 2011-12 was all about proving to the world they could host a global event on the scale of the Volvo Ocean Race. Now the city is confirmed on the route for 2014-15, the goal is not only to stage an event that is even bigger and better but to establish Itajaí as a major sailing capital.
